Books 2-4

I have finished the Chaos Walking Trilogy written by Patrick Ness.  The books are amazingly written about a group of settlers from the old world to the new world and one young man's journey to save them all while finding love along the way. Its a classic find yourself story line with a new twist. I found myself almost cheering for the antagonist in some parts although I knew in the back of my mind he could never be good. I cried near the ending and the ending itself surprised me, it wasn't at all what I was expecting but left a great feeling for a finish.

Now I will the prequel....and maybe to start the Life of Pi........

First book

This year as a goal, not a resolution, I've decided to read 150 books. That's just less then three a week. I know that I might not read that much in a week or maybe I will read more. I just thought it was a nice round number. I don't know if I will review every book but I really want to keep track if the books I am reading. So here goes nothing!

The first book I finished in one day. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I had read his other book A Thousand Splendid Suns a couple of years ago, so I knew his writing style going into the book. One of the things I enjoy the most is his sense of imagery. Every word and conversation through out the book plays on your emotions. From anger to a sense of regret to finding the humor in the little things. I am glad I haven't seen the movie yet, yet that usually spoils the book for me if I see it first. Now I look forward to the movie and his next book out in May this year.

On to my next challenge, a trilogy by Patrick Ness.
